The Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE (April 1-3, 2016) marks the start of a new era. Whilst also counting towards the general drivers’ and teams’ standings of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, the 24-hour race for touring cars at the famous British circuit also serves as the opening round of the inaugural Touring Car Endurance Series powered by Hankook (TCES). The series is a new initiative by Dutch agency CREVENTIC, aimed at touring car drivers and teams, with affordable, easily accessible endurance races. The grid for Silverstone is filling up fast, but last-minute entries are still possible.

“As we already announced the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE at an earlier stage, this race also counts towards the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook,” says Natasha Mark on behalf of CREVENTIC. “Thus, we want to persuade drivers who normally compete in our events with GT cars to get back to their roots and find a drive with one of the touring car teams at Silverstone. There, they can score points for the overall drivers’ and teams’ titles. The feedback we received after our announcement of Silverstone as a touring car-only race was such that we decided to add more events, which is how the Touring Car Endurance Series powered by Hankook came about. Of course, the concept and the philosophy of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook remain unaffected: these races will remain open for GTs and touring cars, with a clear focus on amateur drivers. Affordable costs, a convivial atmosphere with teams and drivers from all over the world and fair competition on the track are – and will always be – the main characteristics of our events.”

“The Silverstone round marks our first-ever event to be held in the UK. We are all really looking forward to this race,” Natasha Mark says. “It is nice to see that there is great interest for all touring car classes, from the increasingly popular TCR class via the A3 class and the CUP1 class for BMW M235i Racing Cup cars all the way down to the compact A2 class. On top of that, we are pleased to see no less than six diesel-powered cars on the provisional entry list as well. At present, we have 70 entries, but it is still possible to register for participation in this race.”

With the Dunlop Prototype Series, Caterham Euro and HRDC Touring Greats, three series are on the support bill of the Hankook 24H SILVERSTONE. There are plenty of activities for fans as well, with access to the starting grid of the race, a parade, an autograph session and a motorcycle stunt show. The race will be broadcast in full on Motors TV while a live stream in HD quality with footage from the onboard cameras and commentary by Radiolemans.com will be available on the series’ website.
