The 2016 season will mark a milestone in the history of GT Sport Organización, as the Madrid-based promotor will offer fans around Europe one of the most exciting racing weekends package. With the addition of the newly relaunched Formula V8 3.5, the most successful single-seater series of the last decade and the one having promoted more drivers to F.1, our race programmes are reaching new heights.
The International GT Open and the Euroformula Open, the two series created by GT Sport, will continue to be the backbone of our weekends, with the Formula V8 3.5 joining in six occasions (Spa, Silverstone, Red Bull Ring, Monza, Barcelona and Jerez).
One more year, the SEAT León Eurocup and the Radical European Masters will continue to be our privileged partnering series. In the case of the SEAT León Eurocup, one of the most exciting single-make trophies, it will accompany us in four events (Estoril, Paul Ricard, Red Bull Ring and Barcelona), while the Radical European Masters, sporting the sportscars preferred by racing purists, it will be with us on all eight GT Sport-promoted meetings except two (Red Bull Ring and Barcelona).
Other prestigious national and international series will partnering on a more occasional basis, with details to be announced in due course.
Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, commented: “We are really looking ahead to a very exciting 2016 season and grateful for their trust to all of the great series that have chosen to come along with us. Our calendar includes eight of the most prestigious and beautiful tracks in the continent, and I am sure all team and drivers will enjoy the experience. Most of all, we feel happy and proud to be able to provide fans in seven different countries such an exciting, exhaustive and diverse racing programme.”
