Another MSA Dunlop British Endurance Championship season concludes with a podium finish for the Newbridge Motorsport-run Team BRIT (British Racing Injured Troops) at Donington Park (7 November) and the squad is now fully focused on taking the next step on their road to Le Mans in the HANKOOK 24H Series.

Team BRIT’s progression is undeniable, as they were consistently four seconds per lap quicker than their previous visit to the East Midlands track earlier this year, having clocked countless competitive miles in their Volkswagen Golf over the course of a packed maiden season of car racing.

A fourth place result was backed up by a podium finish as the sun set on the season and the team’s amazing rate of development bodes well for the squad of injured troops who are chasing an entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and are set to make their international debut in the 2016 HANKOOK 24H Series.

Chris Valentine and Fareed Ali, meanwhile, reunited in their Newbridge Motorsport-prepared Porsche Boxster and drove faultlessly to bring the car home safely and bag a handful of points.

The teammates adapted well to ever-changing weather and lighting, facing wet, but drying conditions in race one and then racing from daylight into complete darkness in the final encounter of the season on Saturday (7 November) evening, finishing both races strongly.

Newbridge Motorsport is already looking ahead to a more intense season of national and international competition that will include occasional appearances on the Britcar package, a full-time campaign in the HANKOOK 24H Series and a European Le Mans Series (ELMS) LMP3 campaign.

“It was a great weekend to finish the season on, especially as Team BRIT ended up on the podium in race two,” said Newbridge Motorsport Team Principal, Richard Tovey. “Newbridge Motorsport has achieved podiums in every race weekend we’ve entered in 2015, which is hugely positive as we prepare for the 2016 HANKOOK 24H Series and search for drivers for our European Le Mans Series LMP3 programme.

“We’ve had a tremendous year and Mark Allen of Team BRIT being presented with the ‘Driver of the Year’ award at Donington Park proves that our driver development programme is working. All the Team BRIT guys have come on leaps and bounds and will be strong when they step up to the next level. It would be great to see Fareed (Ali) do that too, as he has been strong.”

Newbridge Motorsport is excited about the prospect of welcoming new drivers to the fold as the team takes its next step on the road to Le Mans, with LMP3 seats still available and the possibility of fielding a two-car assault on the 2016 European Le Mans Series (ELMS).
