Flying Lizard Motorsports is excited to announce the team has one final race in the books for 2015: the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December. The team has joined forces with Toyo Tires, the Official Tire of NASA (National Auto Sport Association). Now in its 17th year, the USAF 25-Hours of Thunderhill is the longest endurance race in North America, putting cars, tires, drivers and crew to the ultimate test.

“We are very proud to announce this partnership with Toyo Tires for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Flying Lizard has had many successes in several different series over the years, but have never won the Thunderhill event as a team entrant.”

Flying Lizard’s Crew Chief, Tommy Sadler has participated in the event not only as a crew member, but also as a driver, earning four wins, three of which were overall. In the past three years, Toyo Proxes tires have earned 25 podiums in this prestigious event.

While also competing in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, World Challenge and the Porsche Club of America events, Flying Lizard Motorsports spent the 2015 season working closely with Toyo Tires to further tire development in hopes of clinching a win for the No. 45 Toyo Tires / Flying Lizard Audi R8 LMS this December.

“We are honored to partner with Flying Lizard Motorsports for this event. As one of the most well-known and successful teams in sports car racing, their experience and professionalism are second to none,” continued Marc Sanzenbacher, senior manager, motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “We are confident that the industry leading performance of our Toyo Proxes race products are a perfect match for the Audi R8 LMS, as both tires and racecar have proven themselves in numerous endurance racing events worldwide.”

The driver lineup for the Toyo Tires / Flying Lizard Audi R8 LMS will be announced mid-November.
