PMW Expo Racing has unveiled its 2016 Avon Tyres British GT Championship colour scheme, which captures the vibrancy of celebrated V8 Supercar liveries.
This season saw the Optimum Motorsport-run Ginetta G55 GT4 feature one of the paddock’s most eye-catching designs. The yellow, black and day-glow red is set to return next year, albeit in a revised form courtesy of Nick Moss whose previous work includes Ford Performance Racing’s imaginative Pepsi Max liveries.
Graham Johnson, who along with co-driver Mike Robinson finished second in both the overall and Pro/Am GT4 standings this year, was one of the first to announce his 2016 British GT programme and reckons the updated livery sends a strong message about the team’s title aspirations.
“We’ve announced our 2016 plans early because we want everyone to know how committed we are to winning the GT4 title,” he said. “We’ve already signed to Optimum Motorsport and have a test programme worked out, too. We’ll take delivery of a brand-new Ginetta G55 in January so the next step was to reveal our 2016 ‘look’!
“We worked on our car livery with Nick Moss Design from Australia because we were won over by his amazingly eye-catching V8 Supercar designs. We want people to see us coming in their mirrors because a stunning, vibrant car shouts, ‘Coming through!’ and that’s what we want to do next year: we want to win the title.
“I think Nick Moss set the standard with our car’s livery in 2015, but his new 2016 design has taken it to a whole new level! I hope Mike and I can drive as fast as the car looks!”
This year’s British GT campaign concluded three weeks ago but Johnson’s eagerness to remain race-sharp saw him enter last weekend’s Ginetta GT4 SuperCup round at Silverstone.
