Andy Soucek will be back competing at the highest level on October 13th at the Navarra circuit in his homeland Spain, behind the wheel of a McLaren MP4-12C GT car.

After having received several proposals by other teams during the last couple of months, the Austro-Spanish driver has accepted the offer made by Boutsen Ginion Racing to take part in the last race of the 2012 calendar of the GT3 Championship.

The Blancpain Endurance Series are one of the most prestigious series in GT racing, in which several race drivers with an important amount of experience in GT as well as single-seater racing are taking part. Boutsen Ginion Racing, owned by Olivier Lainé and Olivia, the sister of the former F1 driver Thierry Boutsen, has made itself a name as one of the leaders amongst the semi-official teams.

Soucek will be sharing the McLaren GT3 car in the so-called “PRO Class” with Nico Verdonck, the experienced belgian driver, and with a 3rd driver, whose name will be announced shortly.

The Austro-Spanish driver was enthusiastic about his debut in GT Racing: “I’d like to thank Boutsen Ginion Racing for giving me the chance of making my debut in the GT3 category. My career has been focussed on single-seaters so far, so this is a completely new challenge for me. I have been analyzing several proposals this season, and this one has convinced me from the very start. I hope I’ll be able to adapt to the new car quickly, and help Boutsen Ginion Racing achieve the result they deserve with a good finish in Navarra.”
