The FIA World Endurance Championship heads to the Far East this week, to Fuji Speedway, nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Mount Fuji.  After taking second place in Bahrain recently, the Signatech Nissan team has been working hard to keep that momentum going into the Japanese round of the championship.

The ’6 Hours of Fuji’ is the penultimate round of 2012 and Jordan Tresson is keen to play his part in the success of Signatech Nissan by building on the performance of the No.23 car in Bahrain.

“It was a great feeling to climb onto my first LMP2 podium in Bahrain, especially after the bad luck we had suffered in the previous races,” said Jordan. “We knew all along that we had the pace and the technical package to succeed so it was good to be able to prove that. I hope we can repeat this performance at Fuji, or even go one better.  I think the competition will be tough but you know, we are tough too.”

Like many of the WEC contenders this will be Jordan’s first time at Fuji, his first time in Japan in fact, but he has done his homework and knows what to expect when he arrives at Fuji Speedway.

“Fuji looks like a really good track with a very long straight and interesting corners,” he said. “I think we will have to work very hard on the car set up to get this one right.  This will be my first visit to Japan so I’m looking forward to the experience.  I’ve been to Fuji many times virtually via Gran Turismo 5 and it certainly looks impressive.  I hope that we will have a lot of support from the knowledgeable Japanese fans as we are powered by the Nissan engine.”

Seven LMP2 cars will be powered by Nissan at Fuji so the competition will be tight and they will all need all the power they can get for Fuji’s epic 1.5km main straight.
