Next Sunday (20 September), ROWE RACING will be competing with two SLS AMG GT3s in the Blancpain Endurance Series season finale. The race team from Worms in Germany still has chances to win the title in both the teams’ and the drivers’ classification of the endurance series. However, twelve points down, the team led by team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf has to hope for a mistake from its opponents in the teams’ standings. Thinks are looking better in the drivers’ standings for Nico Bastian (GER) and Stef Dusseldorp (NED), who are sharing driving duties in the gullwing with starting number #99 with Daniel Juncadella (ESP): Bastian/Dusseldorp are eight points down on first place and only one point on second place.
A race win for the trio and the current leaders (Frank Stippler/Stéphane Ortelli) not finishing better than third would enable Bastian/Dusseldorp to win the Endurance Pro Cup Drivers Championship. In the final round of the BES season at the Nürburgring, the home circuit for the team from Worms, chances for them to do so are very good. In the sister car with starting number #98, Nicolai Sylvest (DEN), Miguel Toril (ESP) and Kenneth Heyer (GER) will be competing in the thhttp://www.endurance-info.com/en/wp-admin/post-new.phpree-hour race, also in the Pro Cup. The gullwing will run with sponsor IGAT in the grey Motorsport Competence Group livery.
“We are delighted to have two cars on the grid again and to be able to integrate our new partner IGAT. Still having chances to win both titles in the season finale at our home circuit is a great motivation. On the other hand, we also know that victory will be very difficult, because the teams and drivers currently in the lead always have shown a very strong performance so far. Now, we will do our utmost once again to erase the memories of our unfortunate retirement from the Spa 24 Hours. We want to celebrate the season finale on the top step of the podium, and with a little bit of luck perhaps also in the drivers’ and teams’ standings,” Naundorf says.
