B-Quik Racing is prepared and ‘ready to race’ as Thailand Super Series (TSS) moves onto Bira International Circuit for the third and penultimate event of the year this coming weekend, with Henk J. Kiks (#26 Audi R8 LMS Cup) and Daniel Bilski (#27 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup) set to lead out the challenge for honours as usual.

It’s been a bit of a mixed bag so far this year for B-Quik Racing in Super Car Class 2-GTM as real promise and pace hasn’t translated into the results the team has wanted. But a lot of progress has been made in the competitiveness of the cars and the strength of the drivers, the team making strides forward. Daniel has smoothly integrated himself into the team and proved that the venerable Porsche 997 GT3 Cup, now into its fourth season with the team, continues to be a quick and capable proposition in the chase for podium positions against a bumper field that’s stacked with sophisticated racecars.

Now it’s time to harness that energy and speed with Henk and Daniel looking forward to delivering good results at Bira Circuit, the historic ‘Home of Thai Motorsport’. The tight and twisty 2.4-km circuit will less suit the Audi than the high-speed nature of Buriram’s Chang International Circuit, but there is a very good prospect of a strong finish.

B-Quik Racing will have an extra card to play in its preparations as Audi factory driver Alex Yoong will be joining the team to assist with pre-race setup and coaching of Henk.

The Malaysian driver, the first Formula 1 driver to emerge from South East Asia since Prince Bira raced in grands prix with huge success, is now competing as a factory-supported driver in Audi’s pan-Asia ‘R8 Cup’. B-Quik Racing is taking part in the ‘R8 Cup’ this year with Daniel driving while as part of the customer programme we have access to Audi support and that’s added up to bring Alex into the mix.

Alex will join the team in the paddock at Bira Circuit this week and take part in pre-race testing today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday), particularly focusing on suspension setup of the #26 Audi R8 LMS Cup and coaching Henk.

As usual the team will run its pair of Honda Brios in Super Eco for Attapot Sriprom and Nattaphon Rattanawong. Both drivers have been turning in very competitive performances all year and they will be looking to collect more championship points this weekend.

Henk J. Kiks (#26 Audi R8 LMS Cup): “We’re looking forward to getting back on track at Bira Circuit, it’s the track everyone in Thai motorsport cut their teeth on so it’s always great to race here even if it’s a bit tight and cramped these days but it’s always a bit special to come here. We have demonstrated some really good pace this year and we need to build on that momentum and get on the podium. Having Alex Yoong with us for a few days is going to be very useful, his knowledge of the R8 is second to none and so for sure he’s going to provide some excellent benchmarks. I also want to thank Audi for arranging this for us. Now we have to hook it all together, find the right direction and get to the checkered flag well placed.”

Daniel Bilski (#27 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup): “Having never been to Bira before this week will be a very tough challenge for me. I will be working with the team in testing and calling on everyone’s collective experience to try and put the 997 at the sharp end of the grid. I can’t wait for my next new Thailand experience with B-Quik Racing.”
