Huddersfield’s Daniel Lloyd makes his return to the Avon Tyres British GT Championship this coming weekend driving an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Academy Motorsport (September 12-13).
23 year-old Lloyd heads into the season finale at Donington Park straight off the back of an impressive debut in the GT Asia series and will partner Chris Webster in the Academy Motorsport-run #62 Vantage GT4.
Although unfamiliar with the car, Lloyd is confident that his wealth of experience in the Vantage GT3 and British GT championship will see him in good stead for the season’s final two hour race.
“I’m really looking forward to another new challenge this weekend;” commented Lloyd. “Academy Motorsport are a great team with a strong link to Aston Martin so when Matt Nicoll-Jones [Team Manager] approached me to see if I could drive for the final round it seemed like the perfect fit. It’s a great way of continuing with Aston Martin Racing and extending our involvement with the Evolution Academy programme.”
“I’m really happy to be going back to the British GT for the final round of the season;” added Lloyd. “We have a lot of guests joining us at Donington Park and we want make sure that we give them all a great day.
“We’ve had so much support from our sponsors this year so this is our chance to show our appreciation to them all. “
Following two free practice sessions on Saturday morning, qualifying starts at 15.56 local time with Sunday’s two hour race scheduled to commence at 13:00 local time.
