With the GT Open championship battle entering the decisive phase, Teo Martín Motorsport, whose driver pair Alvaro Parente-Miguel Ramos is currently leading the overall standings, has decided to step up its efforts: the Spanish squad will enter at Spa (and possibly in the remaining races) a second McLaren 650S, in close cooperation with the British manufacturer.
In Belgium the car will be driven by a stellar pair composed of Britain’s Rob Bell (36), the well-known GT ace and double ELMS GT Champion (2007-08) and young gun Andrew Watson (20) from Ulster. Bell made already one appearance in the GT Open in 2011 at Barcelona with a JMB Ferrari.
Teo Martín commented: “We are delighted to have the possibility to enter a second car at this crucial phase of the championship and to be in a stronger position to compete with our direct rivals, who beat us in numbers. I thank McLaren for the support and we are anxious to work with Rob and Andrew, who form a terrific duo.”
