Le Mans 24 Hours winner Earl Bamber will rejoin the World Endurance Championship grid at the 6 hours of Nurburgring (28-30 August) and at the 6 hours of America (17-19 September) aboard the number 88 Porsche 911 RSR (LMGTE Am class) of Team Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing.
The New Zealander (25 years), who triumphed at Le Mans with Nico Hulkenberg and Nick Tandy at the wheel of a Porsche 919 Hybrid, will take the place of Austrian Klaus Bachler, who will be racing a Schutz team Porsche 911 GT3-R at the Sachsenring ADAC GT Masters event on the same day, alongside Christian Ried and Khaled Al Qubaisi.
Khaled Al Qubaisi said: “I’m very proud to have the 2015 Le Mans winner joining us at team Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing for the next two races. Racing alongside Bamber will be very encouraging. I wish all the best to Klaus in his ADAC GT Masters weekend, I’m sure he will be really fast as always.”
