Looking to rekindle the magic that put them on the podium at Waktins Glen, Matt McMurry and Daniel Burkett will team up to drive the #16 BAR1 Motorsports PC car  in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America, one of North America’s premier tracks. The 4.048-mile, 14-turn layout is the longest circuit in the TUDOR Series, and should prove to be an exciting venue for the Prototype Challenge cars.

Daniel is a Canadian race car driver from Winnipeg, Manitoba in his 10th year of racing. Daniel got his start racing karts with his local Kart Racing club, the Manitoba Karting Association, and soon developed a passion that has driven him to pursue a career in motorsports as a driver.  Currently campaigning in the Pro Mazda open wheel series, prior to his run at Watkins Glen, Daniel Burkett was a total stranger to sports car racing.

McMurry, who at 16 years old, became the youngest driver ever to compete in and finish the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year, continues to grow his career. A winner and front runner all season long in the IMSA Prototype Lites category in 2014, Matt is continuing his winning ways there again in 2015.  In conjunction with the Dyson Racing Junior Development program, McMurry has already accumulated both experience and trophies in his young career.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence in our driver lineup for Road America,” noted team owner, Brian Alder. “These guys are seasoned beyond their years. They might be young… but they’re smart, professional and they’re fast. I think the size of this track will allow them plenty of room to get out and run. The PC cars are going to be very fast here. Even though we’ve got the full TUDOR grid, the track is long enough to get everyone spread out. But they’re still going to have to drive smart… watch their closing speeds on the GTD cars and work with the GTLM guys.”

“This is going to be a good weekend for the PC division,” continued Brian. “These cars are quick, powerful and produce a lot of downforce. All the PC teams will be competitive. It’s going to be up to the drivers to make the difference. We’ve got a great crew in the pits… they’ll get these guys in and out… but it’ll be up to them to drive smart and bring the car back at the front of the back. They’ve been on the podium with us. We’re all looking forward to doing it again!”
