Another splendid triumph of the Racing One team’s Ferrari in the fifth leg of the VLN on the Nurburgring circuit. The 458 Italia number 138 was unchallenged in the race (which is exactly mid-way though the championship schedule): it easily disposed of the competitors earning a new extraordinary win, which sets the team, car, and driving crew on the way to the championship. Mike Jaeger, Stephan Koehler, Christian Kohlhaas, and Markus Lungstrass were higher on the podium than the official Lexus of Uwe Kleen and Klaus Voelker and than that of the MSC Adenau ADAC team driven by Christoph Wues, Helmut, and Horst Baumann.
Bad luck. The other Ferrari in the race, the 458 Challenge Evo number 139 of Robert Smith, George Richardso, and Stephan Kuhs did not meet with much luck: it was forced to withdraw on the 18th lap while it was vying for a podium position. The win of the overall race went to the Ford of Uwe Alzen and Domink Schwager.
Next event. The next event of the VLN championship is the Grenzlandrennen, scheduled to take place in three weeks time on the usual, very long, “green hell.”
