With Sean Rayhall and Todd Slusher handling the weekend’s driving duties, BAR1 battled hard at this weekend’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park.
The Northeast Grand Prix returned to Lime Rock Park on the scenic seven-turn, 1.5-mile circuit for the first time since the ALMS/Grand Am merger. This year’s race featured Prototype Challenge (PC) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes in a two-hour, 40-minute race.
“This was a challenging week, to say the least,” said team owner, Brian Alder. “Lakeville (CT) does not allow the track to race on Sundays, so given the short weekend, practice time was at a premium. I think Todd Slusher did an especially good job getting up to speed comfortably. He had never turned a lap at Lime Rock Park prior to Friday. I think that speaks volumes of Todd’s talent. “Sean Rayhall did a great job as always getting the car setup and posting some of the quickest and most consistent lap times during the race.”
“Race day just didn’t go our way,” added Brian. “We struggled getting the car dialed in with the limited track time, and missed the setup a bit. However it was fun being the top class in the race and being able to fight for an overall victory. We will regroup as a team and move forward shifting our focus toward the final three races of 2015.”
