The most important race of the Blancpain Endurance Series calendar takes place this weekend (25th and 26th) at the famous circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, one of the temples of world motorsport. At BMW Team Brasil the climate is motivation, anxiety and optimism for this very special race in the season 2015. The event will be an important mark for the Brazilian team that will participate for the first time of the dispute.

And despite the 24h of Spa, in the famous curves and Raidillon Eau Rouge, be new to the drivers of BMW Team Brasil, the circuit is already an old acquaintance of Antonio Hermann, the Team Principal of the Brazilian squad. The good memories in Spa racetrack are because of Hermann’s victory in 1994, he won in the category N. And this fact is one more motivation for everyone in the cast.

Drivers Quotes
Cacá Bueno, BMW Z4 #77
“I never raced there. My first contact with the track will be during this round, but it is a fantastic and very famous circuit, then everybody “knows”. I believe that our car (BMW Z4) will go relatively well, because I think that is a more favorable track for us. But in a race of 24 hours the important is not only be fast. There are so many things: like the qualifying, the strategic part that is fundamental and perhaps most important is going through the 24 hours without drawbacks, without problems, to finish the race, which undoubtedly is the most difficult, exhausting and special race in the season. I’m excited, but I don´t see us as favorites. But, of course, we are one of the protagonists of the championship teams. I believe that we are able to get in the top-10, and our goal is the top-5, which would be a great result for our first participation”.

Sérgio Jimenez, BMW Z4 #77
“I know the track and it is one of the coolest I’ve ever driven. But we know it will be a tough race. However, we were surprised positively at Paul Ricard, where we grew well during the race. We also did the test in Spa, we evolve in the car set-up and check that we must improve. In Spa, we have to be able to classify forward to avoid problems. And the main thing is not to have breaks and beats. We have good chances to finish the race well. It’s a long race for us not only lasts 24 hours. It all starts on Tuesday (21th) and tiredness comes along. If we divide the period by three drivers, will give eight hours for each. It is quite something. We will study how best to divide us. The team is doing an intense preparation in Portugal to leave the car practically zero. They were exchanged several pieces for security and for not having breaks”.

Felipe Fraga, BMW Z4 #77
“I raced at this track twice in others competitions, and always had good results. It’s a famous track because F1, and has one of the most famous corners in motorsport, the Eau Rouge, where everyone wants to race there. I´m excited because I never done such a long race like this. The most that did were 12 hours of kart, but it is different. I believe the 24h of Spa requires much more. It is tiring, and even because of it, we exchange the car seat to make it a little more comfortable for us. Although long, I believe should be well rewarding finish with a good result. It will be a challenge for everyone, because we are not accustomed to evidence so long races, but we are excited. Sergio participated of the tests in Spa and despite the results has not been so positive, we are encouraged that another BMW did a good practice. I believe we will have good chances to fight for good positions”.
