During the fourth round of the Blancpain Sprint Series, Vincent Abril will support the Only Watch charity event with a special paint scheme on his #84 Bentley Continental GT. The young HTP driver will join Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of this auction organized by the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (AMM, Monegasque Association against Myopathies) which, to this day, gave about € 16 million to the scientific and medical research.
Luc Pettavino (AMM president, Only Watch founder-organizer), can you tell us more about your collaboration with Vincent Abril for the promotion of this charity event?
Vincent’s arrival will reinforce a project celebrating its ten-year anniversary in 2015. Only Watch requires each participant and partner to invest his energy, do his best and share talent and competence. I see all these fundamental values in Vincent Abril. The objective consists in keeping the therapeutic hope alive for the Duchenne muscular dystrophy thanks to the worldwide interest aroused by the outstanding beauty of unique watchmaking creations. Through me, people suffering from this disease express their deep gratitude to everyone who made, make and will make Only Watch a team success.
Vincent, does this commitment with Only Watch strengthen your ambitions for this week-end?
I’m entering this round with a great motivation and new off-track objectives. Indeed, beyond our thirst for podium finishes and wins, I hope to be a worthy representative of Only Watch, which will hold an auction in Geneva on November, 7th. I admire Luc Pettavino’s commitment to the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies and all the charity events he put in place. This week-end, we all race together for victory.
Indeed, the last round in Zolder proved to be profitable for Max Bühk and you with two podium finishes. Will you aim at the top step this week-end?
As always, the level is set high and it will call for a great personal investment and a lot of work. However, the Moscow layout might certainly be more suited to our Bentley than the street course originally scheduled. I think we have a good opportunity and if we grab our first season victory, I sincerely hope it will be in Moscow under the Only Watch banner.
