Thomas and Anders Fjordbach leave Belgium with value points for his Silver Cup ambitions

Blancpain Sprint Series calendar continued making his season way through a selection of the best and charismatic tracks around Europe. His visit to Belgium, it was not an exception with the round 3 of the championship in historical Circuit of Zolder.

After the first two rounds done, the Aalborg drivers Anders and Thomas Fjordbach were placed before the Belgian round in first position of Silver Cup, which is reserved to teams that are under 25 years old. Anders Fjordbach explained “This is our first year in this amazing series. We had to discover the car, the championship and especially some tracks that we never raced before. So we consider that the progresses and the experience that we can get after our first season in Blancpain, competing with other drivers that have many seasons in GT, definitely will be a very important step for the future”.

 The Danish drivers tested some configurations on Friday with the two Free Practise sessions, searching to gain confidence and performance on the track. On Sunday morning in Qualifying, with a track with better conditions Fjordbach brothers improved substantially his lap times, downing around two seconds his best times achieved the previous day.

 That was an excellent starting point for Qualifying Race, in which they showed a good race pace with his Audi R8 LMS Ultra before Sunday’s Main Race.

 Sunday’s Main Race was full of action for the Danish drivers, with an intense emotion especially in the second part of the race for gain positions with interesting battles. They ended in twelve position overall and crossed the chequered flag in P2 of Silver Cup. They end the Zolder’s race weekend with 24 points more in overall standings, for sure crucial for his Silver championship aims.

 Thomas Fjordbach explained after the race: “The lecture of the weekend it’s positive, we go home with more experience and good points for the Silver Cup, and that was part of the plan. For next one we will try to continue improving and maintain active the war for the title!”

 Anders Fjordbach reported: “Zolder completed! Unfortunately in some moments we lost some time, but we will try to push harder in Moscow. The battle in Silver Cup is alive every race weekend and that’s great for us. Next stop for the team will be in Paul Ricard for Blancpain Endurance, I can’t wait to race there!”

 Next racing compromise for High Class Racing will be in French circuit of Paul Ricard (19-20/June) with the third round of Blancpain Endurance Series.
