Davide Rigon is preparing to face a new challenge, over the weekend of 7/8 September at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The driver from Thiene (Vicenza) who is on the books at the Scuderia for racing and technical development work, will take part in the sixth round of this season’s International GT Open championship at the wheel of the Villorba Corse 458 GT2. The team currently leads the teams classification and Rigon will be standing in for Luca Filippi, teamed with the driver currently heading the series, Andrea Montermini.
“It will be an honour for me to drive for Villorba Corse,” commented David. “I’ve already been to the team’s facility and we have got off to a good start together. It will be quite a responsibility replacing Luca alongside Andrea at the race in Spa, but I’m sure it will be a very interesting experience and I will be trying my very best.”
