The race debut at Silverstone was a successful one: tenth and eleventh place for ROWE RACING’s two SLS AMG GT3s. The gullwing with starting number #99 finished in tenth place in the three-hour race of the Blancpain Endurance Series (BES). The ASTANA sister car with number #98 followed right behind it in eleventh position. Like at Monza already, both cars of the team from Worms in Germany achieved the best results of the eight SLS AMG GT3s that were on the grid.

In a difficult qualifying in changing weather conditions, the number #99 ROWE RACING SLS AMG GT3 got itself a good position with 19th place on the grid. In the second part of qualifying, ROWE RACING driver Nico Bastian (GER) even temporarily set the fastest time. Later on, he drove a solid stint as the starting driver in the race, now on a dry track again. During his stint, he made up several positions. His team-mates Stef Dusseldorp (NED) and final driver Klaus Graf (GER) also showed a masterful performance and moved up one place after another in the field of almost 60 cars. They made it to the finish in tenth position overall as the best-placed SLS AMG GT3.

The number #98 ASTANA sister car secured twelfth place on the grid in qualifying, but was dropped three places due to a penalty. That, however, didn’t affect starting driver Daniel Juncadella (ESP) in any way: he quickly made up some positions and thus came within reach of the top ten. His two team-mates Indy Dontje (NED) and Nicolai Sylvest (DEN) also drove a faultless race and thus, the team finished in eleventh place after 84 laps.

ROWE RACING team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf: “We are very happy with tenth and eleventh place. Today, competition was really tough, but both teams delivered a great performance and drove a faultless race. Moreover, our cars were the best-placed SLS AMG GT3s in the field once again. Thus, our first-ever race at Silverstone really was a success.”

The next BES round takes place on Sunday, 20 June, 2015, at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. In this race, ROWE RACING wil again be competing with two gullwings.
