Second stop for Blancpain Sprint Series of the season, this time was turn to visit the United Kingdom south eastern track of Brands Hatch, this motorsport complex have two different configurations possible, the Indy and the GP, in which the Blancpain used the longest one with 3.716 meters.
Fjordbach brothers, Anders and Thomas, landed in the British circuit leading the Silver Cup classification after his win in the opening round in Nogaro a month ago. Thomas Fjordbach commented before the weekend “After the first race in France, we checked that this championship has got a high level of competition, the races are intense so it’s going to be challenging and exciting!”
Saturday took place the free practise and the qualifying sessions in which Anders and Thomas Fjordbach worked in the set up and discovering the circuit, due to it was for they the first time that they are competing here. They finished the day with progresses and value data for the following race day.
Qualifying and Main races were both on Sunday, the Audi R8 LMS Ultra number seventy four of the Danish team started Main Race with energy commanding Silver Cup finding a good pace, after the first half of the race they made his pit stop passed the first 27 minutes of competition. The second part of the race was full of small battles for the Aalborg drivers and they finally ended the race after the Bentley of the winners Lombard/Szymkowiak in Silver Cup.
Thomas Fjordbach made balance at the end of the meeting: “We gained a lot of experience this weekend we have never raced here in Brands Hatch and this was an extra handicap for the team, so we had a busy two days inside and outside the track. We improve some things and for next round for sure that we will continue the fight on”
Anders Fjordbach reported: “We really tried all the weekend but sadly in today’s Main Race we missed some luck to finishing more up in the overall classification. In two weeks we will visit Silverstone in Blancpain Endurance championship, we will work to be at the start line in the best conditions putting all the best on the track”
Next racing compromise for High Class Racing will be the 16th and 17th of May in 24h of Nurburgring for Anders Fjordbach and in the second round of Audi R8 LMS Cup Asia in Yeongam (Korea) for Thomas Fjordbach.
