The Bentley Team HTP Bentley Continental GT3s will return „home“ this weekend for the second round of the Blancpain Sprint Series at Brands Hatch. The race in Kent marks the first race of Bentley Team HTP with the Continental GT3s on Bentley’s “home soil” in England. At the British round of the Sprint Series, Maximilian Buhk (D)/Vincent Abril (F) in the #83 Bentley and Olivier Lombard (F)/Jules Szymkowiak (NL) in the #84 Bentley aim for their first podium finish.
Bentley Team HTP had a mixed beginning to its Sprint Series campaign, which started Easter weekend at Nogaro in France. Both Bentleys showed a strong pace in the opening round, but fell victim to incidents during the Qualifying Race. Nevertheless, Buhk/Abril fought back and only narrowly missed out a podium finish.
A podium finish is Bentley Team HTPs clear goal for the race at Brands Hatch, one of the most popular circuits for drivers and fans. The race at Brands Hatch will be a busy event as it’s held over two days with both races on Sunday.
„We are really excited to take our Bentleys back to England“, Bentley Team HTP team principal Norbert Brückner says. „Brands Hatch is a great track and it would be great to score our first podium finish for Bentley in the Sprint Series there. The schedule is very tight, as it’s a two-day event. We have to keep very focussed, and there is no time to make any mistakes!“
Driver Quotes
Jules Szymkowiak (#83): “I have a very good feeling for Brands Hatch and I believe our Bentley will work very well there. The Bentley has a powerful engine but also good aerodynamics and there are a lot of quick corners at Brands Hatch. I have not been to Brands Hatch yet, but practised this track a lot with my Playseat Simulator. After our disappointing weekend at Nogaro, I hope to do a lot better in England and personally, I feel prepared.”
Maximilian Buhk (#84): „Brands Hatch is certainly one of my favourite tracks. It has some very quick corners, which we will not find at any other track and I’m really looking forward to the race. It’s just fun to race there, plus it’s in a very nice part of England. I scored a podium finish at Brands Hatch last season and it would be a great venue to grab my first podium finish for Bentley. We had good pace at the opening round at Nogaro and on home soil, our Bentley should be very quick.“
