8Star Motorsports team owner and Venezuelan driver, Enzo Potolicchio, finished fourth in the Pro-Am class for the first event of the Blancpain GT Endurance Series. Potolicchio joined Piergiuseppe Perazzini and Marco Cioci in the #53 AF Corse Ferrari GT3 at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
Potolicchio, who joined Perrazzini and Cioci for the 12 Hours of Sebring in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, made his return to the European tracks and did so in great fashion. Potolicchio posted the fastest lap in the #53 Ferrari with a time of 1m50.122s around the 3.6 mile Monza track.
“I am really happy with our race in Monza, as it was my first time here and I adapted really quick to the Ferrari GT3 car and the track. I have to thank AF Corse for giving me the opportunity to drive a competitive car in order to accomplish our goal of a top five in this first round of the championship,” said Potolicchio. “I believe we have the option to continue in the fight for the championship and I am really looking forward for the next race in Silverstone where I have had success before in the FIA WEC championship.”
Potolicchio will join Perazzini and Cioci for the rest of the Blancpain GT Endurance Series, which will have its next stop at Silverstone. Potolicchio, who obtained a victory in the FIA WEC LMP2 class at Silverstone in 2012, will be looking to repeat his success this time with the AF Corse Ferrari GT3 on May 24th.
