After becoming the first different chassis constructor towin the prestigious DP Chassis Constructor’s championship in ten years, Coyote Production Management rumbles into the streets of Long Beach with entries first, second and third in the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship prototype standings.

Never one to dwell on past success, Coyote CEO Gary Nelson is pleased with the start to the 2015 season, but he knows there is still plenty of work to be done.

“We’ve enjoyed a good start to the 2015 IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship,” said Nelson. “It’s great for Coyote to be the builder of the three chassis in the top-three positions going to the third race of the year. “

“The competition in IMSA is at an all time high,” Nelson said. “The competition among chassis manufacturers has been great over the last several years and it will only get more competitive as we head into the summer stretch. We feel confident in the direction we are heading, and we are going to continue to produce and maintain what we believe are the best racecars in the sport.”

The Coyote chassis’ not only met Nelson’s “expect to win” approach to racing, it exceeded his expectations at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring where the Mustang Sampling Corvette DP was victorious with a margin of victory of one lap over the second place competitor.

In addition to the dominating victory with the Mustang Sampling Corvette DP, Visit Florida Racing scored their second podium of the year at Sebring, brining the Coyote podium count to four in the first two races.

The No. 31 Whelen/Team Fox Corvette DP turned the fastest lap in the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona and demonstrated exceptional speed in the Twelve Hours of Sebring. However, the team fell victim to a loose wheel in the early stages of the event, they were able to rally back to a second top-5 finish on the year.

The No. 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette remains the only entry to have completed every mile of competition dating back to the inaugural event of the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, 10,415 consecutive miles as the team heads to Long Beach seeking their second consecutive win of the season.

The Denver, NC based Coyote Production Management shares a facility with the defending IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship winning Action Express Racing.
