This summer’s extra-special 25th anniversary Silverstone Classic (24-26 July) promises to be the biggest and best yet… and the Silver Jubilee extravaganza blasts off at the Home of British Motorsport next Wednesday (15 April) with the traditional pre-event Media Test Day.
A capacity gathering of more than 130 historic racing cars will all be revving up for what is already a record-breaking 2015 Silverstone Classic.
Like the event itself, next week’s glittering gathering will showcase the full spectrum of motor sport history from Pre War Sports Cars such as legendary Bentleys and Bugattis from the Twenties right up to iconic Group C prototypes, Super Tourers and 90s GT Legends from the Eighties and Nineties. Adding to next Wednesday’s experience, many of these wonderful machines will be offering Media and VIP guests high-speed passenger rides around the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
A number of significant displays will act as a further appetiser to this July’s staging of the World’s Biggest Classic Motor Racing Festival. The NSX Club GB will be celebrating 25 years of Honda’s mid-engined supercar alongside showcases of Triumph TR3s, TR4As and TR7s, MGAs, Bentley S1s and even the Sinclair C5 – all have magical milestones in 2015 that will be marked with massive anniversary track parades come July’s event.
Bringing everyone right up to speed with all the latest news, the morning’s activities also include a Press Conference. Along with key members of today’s organisational team, those being interviewed will include some of the famous drivers regularly competing at the Classic as well as several of the innovators behind the creation of the original Historic Festival staged at Silverstone back in 1990.
Last year’s spectacular three-day festival attracted its biggest crowd yet with nearly 95,000 visitors. Now ticket sales for this summer’s best-ever Silver Jubilee are significantly up. Next Wednesday’s busy preview will epitomise the many of the highlights that make the Classic such a popular – and world-beating – event.
