Since 2012 the World Endurance Championship has been the ambassador for Le Mans style endurance racing around the world, with great racing action, family entertainment, unprecedented access for the fans to the drivers and the cars and much, much more.

One of the great spectacles ever year at the 24 Heures du Mans is the traditional start procedure where the cars line against the pitwall facing the grandstands and the teams line up across the grid for the national anthems.

For 2015 the WEC is going to use the Le Mans style start procedure at every round, providing a unique experience for race fans in the UK, Belgium, Germany, USA, Japan, China and Bahrain.  The new start procedure will be used at the 6 Hours of Silverstone on the 12 April.

Gérard Neveu, CEO of the World Endurance Championship, said:“At each and every race the World Endurance Championship provides every visitor a sense of the spectacle of the world’s greatest race, the 24 Heures du Mans.  Sportscars and the teams are the real stars of the event.  These changes will put the emphasis on that and provide the spectators with a much better experience at each of the 6-Hour race weekends.”
