It was all change at the Paul Ricard circuit with the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) teams leaving and the pit garages being taken over by the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) contenders. The track, 60km from Marseille in southern France, saw Dunlop teams complete over six thousand kilometres, adding to the ELMS mileage on Dunlop tyres this week in official pre-season testing.

Dunlop teams topped the open-competition LMP2 category in all of the five sessions with KCMG’s Oreca ending the test as overall fastest followed by G-Drive Racing’s Ligier. Team Sard Morand was the only other team to put in a fastest session time in the Morgan while Signatech Alpine used the same session to focus on race runs, clocking up an impressive 94 laps in the four hour slot.

JMW Motorsport tested with a WEC specification Ferrari in preparation for Le Mans, finishing second overall fastest in the LMGTE Am class.

Both ELMS and WEC teams will compete in the first events of the 2015 season at Silverstone in two weeks.

Mike McGregor, Senior Engineer, Dunlop : “The feedback from the teams has been very good. The drivers are happy with the 2015 specification tyres and are pleased with the improvements we’ve made over the winter. Race runs included double stinting and we had reports of more consistent lap times in addition to the improved performance and handling. Our support for all of our teams continues as we help them individually to get the best set-up looking at the data from the testing this week. In less than two weeks we will see them all in action for real at Silverstone.”
