Last weekend, Italian squad Solaris Motorsport carried out at Adria the shake-down of its new Corvette Z06.R GT3, bought from Callaway last December, which will be entered full-season in the GT Open. Despite cold weather, the test went perfectly well and the squad will be on track again at Vallelunga later this month, before the Winter Series at Paul Ricard.

Solaris Motorsport, based in Pescara, is a family success story, as it is run by Francesco Sini (33), who is also its established driver, together with father Roberto and sister Laura. The team and Francesco have been extremely successful with Radicals in the past, winning the Italian title and the World Cup in 2007 and the Radical European Masters in 2008. Most recently, Solaris has debuted in GT racing, taking the Euro V8 Series last year.

The team will announce shortly the other driver alongside Francesco Sini, who commented:  “We are working hard to be perfectly ready for the beginning of the season! Callaway Competition and us, together with all the Corvette Motorsport guys, have great expectations this year and we will do all we can not to disappoint anyone.”
