Young Driver AMR and its founder Jan Struve received great honours at the Dansk Automobil Sport Union (DASU) Danish Motorsport Awards prize giving ceremony, held at Copenhagen’s Cirkusbygningen Wednesday evening. Jan Struve was awarded with the prestigious „Høltzer pokalen“, which honours efforts and dedications for the Danish Motorsport. DASU recognized the work and efforts of Jan Struve and Young Driver AMR during the 2014 season in the FIA World Endurance Championship, when the team won the drivers and teams championship in the GTE-Am-class with four class wins in eights races, including a class victory at the 24h hours of Le Mans.

Struve and Young Driver AMR were also nominated in the category “Motorsport Profile of the year”. “Young Driver” Nicki Thiim was nominated in the category “Driver of the Year”.

„I’m very happy and proud about this honour, which comes a bit surprising”, Jan Struve said. „I have to thank the Danish Automobil Sports Union for recognising our successful season 2014. A very special thank goes to our drivers Kristian Poulsen, David Heinemeier Hansson, Nicki Thiim and Richie Stanaway, who made the big success in the past season possible along a top performance of our partners at Aston Martin Racing. It’s certainly a great start into the new season and hopefully a good sign.“

Young Driver AMR announced on Wednesday their move to the GTE-Pro class of the FIA WEC in 2015 with an Aston Martin Vantage GTE and an all-Danish driver line up of Lotus F1 Team test driver Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim and Christoffer Nygaard.
