Matt McMurry, youngest starter and finisher ever of the 24 Hours of Le Mans; will be this upcoming weekend behind the wheel of the Honda powered Ligier JS P2 that Michael Shank Racing will operate during the Roar Before the Rolex  24 at Daytona. Matt, alongside his teammates Ozz Negri and AJ Almendinger, has been testing recently with the Ligier on the Palm Beach International Raceway and he has kindly given to Endurance-Info his feelings about these two days of testing.:

“The Honda powered Ligier has been very fun to drive. During our first two days of testing at Palm Beach International Raceway we had very few technical problems, which is great for the first time the car has been operated by MSR. Michael Shank and his team have done a very good job getting the car ready for Daytona.

Compared to the Zytek, it feels much lighter and more nimble. I would describe the car as a half way point between the super light IMSA Prototype Lites and the heavier Zytek, in terms of how it handles. It also feels like the Ligier has a little more power under acceleration, most likely due to the turbos. I already feel very comfortable in the car and am able to run times similar to my really experienced teammates Ozz Negri and AJ Allmendinger.”
