In addition, he has been a frequent contributor to dozens of print and on-line publications. He is a correspondent for major websites such as Sportscar365 and DailySportsCar. He also provides historical assistance to the Revs Institute for Automotive Research and the Revs Program at Stanford University.

Wimpffen is the author of Time and Two Seats, considered to be the “bible” of sports car racing history. Most recently he wrote Elva, the Cars, the People, the History. Both were voted book of the year by the Motor Press Guild and János won the coveted Dean Batchelor Award. He is recognized internationally for his thoughtful, thorough, and witty chronicling of the sport.

The Maxi Endurance book will focus on the drama of the event and provide extensive detail on each team, driver, and car. It will cover the story of the pre-race preparations on to hour-by-hour coverage of the action, and through to the podium celebrations. The book will also offer a historical context with past long-distance events. The Maxi Endurance book will be done in conjunction with several professional photographers from Portugal and Spain to create a rich tapestry that will bring to life this historic event and provide a memento to cherish for years.

During race week János will be present throughout the paddock and will be meeting with each of the teams. The book will be made available to all of the race participants very soon after the event.
