Following the great success of the inaugural edition held in March this year, the ‘Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello’ will again be the venue for the Hankook 12H ITALY-MUGELLO. The second running of the twelve-hour race for touring cars, GTs and 24H Specials will be held on 13-14 March, 2015 and will be the second round of the 2015 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. “With all the positive feedback we received after this year’s race, going back to Mugello in 2015 was only logical,” says Gerrie Willems on behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is the promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).

The inaugural 12H ITALY-MUGELLO was hailed as a tremendous success by teams, drivers and organisers. The race attracted a good field with competitors from many countries and there was good competition in the various classes. The challenging Mugello circuit, located in the rolling hills of Tuscany, proved to be popular with the drivers while many used the opportunity to combine the race with some sight-seeing in the region, including the nearby city of Florence. For red-blooded motorsport enthusiasts, a lap of the old Mugello street circuit including the Futa Pass (also of Mille Miglia fame) had to be part of the programme. The pleasant temperatures, the great cuisine and all the other good things Italy has to offer all added to the pleasure and it was only suitable that victory went to a Ferrari team, AF Corse with its 458 Italia GT3.

Obviously, regulations are identical for all rounds of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, so teams can, for instance, use the cars they also race in the Hankook 24H DUBAI. The return transport from Dubai will, of course, be back well in time to allow teams to prepare their machinery for the Italian event. There is one entry fee for all classes while catering at the track for drivers, team members and guests can be provided by CREVENTIC.

Like this year, the race will again be split up in two parts: the first three hours will be run on Friday afternoon, followed by a parc fermé on Friday evening and during the night. The final nine hours will be held on Saturday, followed by the prize-giving ceremony. Based on the experience from this year, this ensures a relaxed atmosphere and allows everybody involved to fully enjoy the event. Commentary  by the expert team of Radio Show Limited, well known from Radio Le Mans, is planned for the Hankook 12H ITALY-MUGELLO as well.
