The final round of the all-Dunlop eight double-header International GT Open events takes place in Barcelona on 1st and 2nd November with six drivers, three teams and two brands fighting for the title. Only four points separate the trio with a maximum of 44 available. Competition is close and no team has yet won both events in one weekend so competition for the title is bound to produce two of the best races of the season.

V8 Racing’s Nicky Pastorelli and Miguel Ramos have a slender one-point lead having driven their Corvette to five of the 14 victories so far this season. Roman Mavlanov and Daniel Zampieri’s Ferrari has taken the flag three times for the SMP Racing – Russian Bears squad. With a four point deficit, ex-F1 racer Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò, will be looking to add to the single win scored so far in 2014 in the Villorba Corse Ferrari.

With a record six consecutive race wins, RP Motorsport’s Sandy Stuvik claimed the EuroFormula Open title at the penultimate round in Italy. The Thai driver was runner up in the F3 series last year and was on a charge for 2014 taking ten wins and 9 pole positions to date. The youngster is destined to be a star of the future and spectators at the Montmelo track can watch a potential F1 racer in action. Artur Janosz and Alex Palou are vying for the runner-up slot and will ensure great racing at the weekend. The pair are the only other drivers so far to have won EuroFormula races this year.

Racing Stat – Close Finishes

In GT Open, two of the 14 races have seen finishes with the top two crossing the line being separated by less than one second after 50 and 70 minutes of racing. A further six races were still close with less than five seconds separating the first and second finishers.
