WeatherTech Racing will start the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America from the third row in GTD tomorrow.

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Leh Keen (Charleston, SC) put in fast laps all weekend as they made subtle adjustments to the No. 22 WeatherTech Racing Porsche. The duo have been able to maintain second place in the ultra-competitive GTD points standings without a podium finish on the year. They are hoping to turn that around this weekend. Keen put in a time of 2:09.434 good for a fifth place starting position tomorrow’s 1:15 p.m. start to the two-hour-and-forty-five-minute race.

“The car is really solid,” Keen said. “The WeatherTech Porsche has been very drivable all weekend. It is nice to have a pretty comfortable car at this great track. We have a good race car. We were able to pull some speed out of it for qualifying. We are a tenth of a second off the fastest Porsche, which is our team car, so that is not too bad. We are three-tenths off of the pole. It is a good, solid starting position. The guys we are running against in the points are behind us. I really have no worries for the race. The WeatherTech Porsche is good. Like the rest of the season we will have to run qualifying laps the last hour of the race.”

MacNeil counts Road America as his home track and is looking for a strong performance tomorrow.

“The WeatherTech Porsche is pretty quick this weekend,” MacNeil said. “The car always seems to run good here. We won at Road America two years ago and finished second here last year. Leh did a good job putting us up in fifth on the grid. The car has been consistent throughout practice. We have a good solid Porsche for the race. We will look to put in fast consistent laps and have some car left for the end.”

Alex Job, team owner, has the team ready.

“Leh and Cooper like the way the car is running,” Job said. “Road America has been a very good track for us the last couple of years. We would like to put together a complete race and get on the podium, hopefully the top step.”
