The third meeting of the European Le Mans Series is on the horizon. It will be held at the end of the week at the Red Bull Ring, a 4,2 km circuit located in Austria. 29 years old Mike Parisy and the young Max Van Splunteren (18 years) will have the opportunity of getting to know the ProSpeed Competition team. The French GT-FFSA 2009 champion recently became acquainted with the team during the private test sessions organised on the Magny-Cours circuit. Fully conversant with handling a Porsche 911, which he drove with great success in the Carrera Cup and in the FIA GT1 World Championship, Mike Parisy will complete the rest of the ELMS season at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3-R #75 entered in the GTC class (Grand Touring Challenge). He will be supporting Gilles Vannelet… and Max Van Splunteren, successfully active in the Formula Ford North Sea Series and the GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux these last two seasons. The Parisy-Van Splunteren Jr duo will replace Maxime Soulet and Paul Van Splunteren, respectively retained due to other commitments and priorities.
Rudi Penders (Team Principal ProSpeed Competition)
“It’s a pleasure for us at ProSpeed Competition to work together with Mike Parisy, because we are fully convinced about his talents. In fact we know him very well. Mike was one of our rivals during the period of the FIA GT3 Championship. Also at the beginning of this year he was present in this top-rated ELMS championship, at the wheel of a car entered by a ninefold world rally champion. Max has known the ProSpeed Competition since childhood, and this obviously through his father. His first steps in single-seaters and the GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux were highly promising, and he is now taking on a new stage, one we have carried out with so many young drivers, such as Marco Holzer, Maxime Soulet and Enzo Ide amongst others, and who with us found the ideal environment in which to progress.”
Mike Parisy (Driver – Porsche 911 GT3-R #75 – GTC Class)
“The private test sessions gave me the opportunity to get to know ProSpeed Competition, in ideal conditions and away from any pressure. I soon found myself at home having been welcomed, with open arms by my friend Gilles Vannelet and the entire team. We clocked up loads of kilometres without encountering any problems. We now need to put this into practice in the race to bring our crew to the forefront in the GTC class.”
Paul Van Splunteren (Driver – Porsche 911 GT3-R #75 – GTC Class)
“I must unfortunately put a premature end to my season in ELMS. I suggested that Max should take over my drive and he accepted without a second thought. These last two years Max has competed in single-seaters and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Today he’s gained enough experience to come into his own in a great championship. I have every confidence in the professional environment that ProSpeed Competition will be offering him. I personally want to be fit again for the final round of the GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux. Max’s car will then be available… and one needs to have goals in mind”
