Not an easy weekend for Joel Camathias at the Hungaroring for the fourth round of the International GT Open, which has taken place in hot weather as expected. The Porsche 911 R of Autorlando Sport was not at ease on the difficult Hungarian track and the Swiss driver, together with his team mate Matteo Beretta, has struggled to find the right set-up.
Despite that, in Race 1, the duo managed to take a 6th place while in Race 2, a punctured radiator caused retirement at mid-race. The focus is now on the next round, in two weeks, at Silverstone, with the determination to do better.
Joel Camathias:
“As expected, it has been a difficult weekend, with very warm weather, and finding the right balance was a struggle, especially as the car changed behaviour at every session. It wasn’t easy. Inn Race 1, we both did reasonably well and could clinch an acceptable result: 6th. In Race 2, though, the radiator got punctured, probably by a little stone, in the first stint. We realized this at the pit stop, when all the pressure and the water came down, so I didn’t even started my stint. It will be better at Silverstone, a fast track where we should be more competitive.”
