Fall-Line Motorsports’ success in sports car racing has allowed them to expand operations once again into a new motorsports outlet. They will enter the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America Series this weekend at Watkins Glen International and this first foray into the international series will be driven by team owner Mark Boden.
The North American version of the series is in its second season and the format for the series is unique. There are two practice sessions and one 40-minute qualification. If there are multiple drivers who will be sharing the driving duties, both must participate in qualifying. There are two 50-minute races in which the second race grid is set by the classification order of the first.
The Lamborghini Gallardro LP 570-4 Super Trofeo car is the ultimate single-make race car and the only four-wheel drive GT race car in the world. The 570- horsepower, V10 Gallardo LP 570-4 features impressive technology such as paddle shift E-gear transmission, Öhlins race shocks, Brembo brakes, a carbon fiber aerodynamic package that includes a rear wing with ten adjustable positions, MTA data acquisition, air jacks, center lock wheels and more.
The Watkins Glen event will have a record number of entries with 17 cars at the 11-turn, 3.4-mile circuit and Fall-Line intends to complete the remainder of the 2014 season.
Race One is scheduled for 4:10p ET on Friday, June 27. Race Two is scheduled for 5:30p ET on Saturday, June 28 with practice sessions on Thursday, June 26 and qualifying Friday.
Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager: “We are very excited to announce our expansion into the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. The folks at Lamborghini and Perillo Goldcoast Lamborghini here in Chicago have really made this possible and we look forward to completing the remainder of the 2014 season with at least the Goldcoast Car. As always our expansion is the product of a lot of hard work and dedication from everyone at Fall-Line Motorsports who work tirelessly to continually put us in a position to run at the front. We are very impressed with the series and cars, this is a great program for folks wishing to enjoy a low-key weekend with a fast and exciting car.”
