Scuderia Villorba Corse and their #1 Ferrari 458 are ready for a new fight in the third round of the International GT Open. The event is to be held from June 20 to 22 on a very demanding and technical track such as Jerez de la Frontera, south of Spain. Entered in the Super GT class, Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio and Villorba crew formed by Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schiro aim to another very competitive racing weekend to score valuable points for the standings after three podiums out of four races at the Nurburgring and in Portimao. The F1 driver and reigning GT Open champion from Modena and the 20-years-old 2012 European F3 Open champion will share the supercar from Maranello for the fourth time ever, hoping to improve their performances again, just as happened in the previous commitments.

“Jerez is another challenging round because of a very demanding track and, presumably, a very hot weather for drivers and cars – says Amadio, Team Principal -. After a very positive weekend at Portimao the whole squad keeps on working on every 2014 programme so the team is fully trained. We hope that, as happened in Portugal, Jerez can be the perfect weekend to score valuable points for the championship, still very long and full of surprises and twists”.

“We are making progress making the most of a very hard team work – says Montermini -. That allows us to look at Jerez with confidence though we perfectly know the very high context in which we will compete and the fact that our Ferrari is racing with GT3 specifications.”
