After a Saturday with weather almost like autumn and rain all day long, on Sunday, the final day of this season’s second round in the Blancpain Endurance Series, the participants finally saw some sun for the over 40 cars, ready for the race over three hours.

The cars playing at home were victorious here in Silverstone today with the Bentley Continental GT3 from the Bentley Motors Team driven by Meyrick/Smith/Kane winning the overall classification as well as the PRO class, followed by the McLaren from the  Art Team with Korjus/Estre/Soucek and the Audi R8 LMS Ultra driven by Ramos/Basseng/Vanthoor. In the PRO-AM class victory went to the Nissan driven by Strauss/McMillen/Buncombe, ahead of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 from the MP Motorsport AMR Team with Poole/Osborne/Abra and the BMW Z4 from Roal Team driven by Comandini/Amos/Cerruti. Sixth place was gained by the Ferrari 458 GT3 from Kessel Racing driven by Broniszewski/Petrobelli/Bonacini, who fought for a place on the podium for a very long time during the race, crossing the line with a time not far off the podium at all.

In the category for GENTLEMEN victory went to the Ferrari 458 GT3 driven by Mattschull/Schmickler, followed by another Ferrari, the 458GT3 from AF Corse with Mann/Barreiros/Guedes and the Audi R8 LMS Ultra from the Parker Racing Team with Loggie/Jones/Westwood. An excellent performance was shown by Kremer/Earle/Mahy with the 458 GT3, concluding the race in fifth position, after a perfect repair operation of the car carried out by the Kessel Racing technicians, after the drivers had missed almost the entire day of practice on Saturay when the car went off track in the morning.

The next appointment for Kessel Racing is scheduled for mid-June in Brno for the next round of the Ferrari Challenge Europa Championship.
