Scuderia Bi&Bi’s #50 Tatuus scored a great result in Spain just a few days ago on the Mont- melò racetrack.

When the checkred flag falled Marco Biffis and Vito Rinaldi where in 7th position overall and 2nd among the teams of the “Gentlemen” class. This result was achieved with a steady pace and a perfect strategy during the 6 hours on the tough spanish track.

From the first practice sessions there where encouragin results, with both drivers lapping on a consistent pace, close to the rivals performance, particularly on used tyres and in traffic conditions.

Despite this qualifying proved difficult with a setup which more suited for race conditions meaning that the white and violet Tatuus would have to start from 18th place on the 9th row of the grid.

During the six hours of the race the tune changed from the first hour; at the start Vito Rinaldi avoided a dan- gerous accident just few turns from the start, mantaining the position at the end of the first hour. From the second hour a furious charge by Rinaldi and Biffis put the Tatuus on 13th place thanks to a great pace and a perfect reliability.

The race continued without major dramas for the italian duo until the fifth hour where the prototype had to serve a double stop&go for a infringment in the pit-stop procedure. The time lost in the process meant that the team would still be just outside the top 10.

The sixth hour proved decisive with Biffis able to recover 5 position from the opponents which where starting to feel the stress of the race, both physically and mechanically.

The Tatuus PY012 crossed the line in 7th position, 2nd to the TFT team for what concerns the “Gentlemen” class and first of the Tatuus prototypes.

The result surely can be considered very positive with great margins of improvement for the remainder of the season which will restart from the Bugatti track at Le Mans on the 18th of April, a renowned location which will make the motivation of the whole team even higher.
