GT Open regular Drivex School, the Spanish team faithful to Porsche, will be on the starting line of the 2014 season with its Porsche 911 RSR and renewed ambitions. The Madrid-based squad led by Miguel Ángel De Castro has announced its first driver for the season, Spanish young star Fernando Monje.
The 21-year old from Barcelona, a former top-runner in the European F.3 Open, joins from two seasons in touring cars, having raced in the WTCC and conquered the European Touting Car Championship (ETCC) at the wheel of a Seat.
Drivex is currently in negotiations to hire another top driver to complete the line-up. Fernando Monje will test the Porsche at the Winter Series testing session in Barcelona later this week, sharing the duties with his father Ferran, who has been a GT Open contender in the past with the Sunred and has claimed wins in the 24 Hours of Barcelona 2009 and Dubai (A3T) in 2010.
