The flourishing TF Sport team has joined an exclusive and esteemed club having been named as an official Aston Martin RacingPartner Team.
The newly-launched Surrey-based operation is preparing for a full-time assault on the Avon Tyres British GT Championship, as well as partial campaigns in the Blancpain Endurance Series and Dutch Supercar Challenge in 2014.
Led by Tom Ferrier, the team will enter the burgeoning British GT Championship with a pair of Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3s under the Horsepower Racing and TF Sport banners.
However, in what is a significant coup for the young outfit, it has been selected as an official Aston Martin Racing Partner Team – a prestigious and sought-after title that’s shared among only ten teams worldwide.
Such recognition is in a testament to TF Sport’s ambition and professionalism and the squad commenced its relationship with Aston Martin Racing and preparations for its British GT ‘tour de force’ at an official and exclusive two-day test at the Autodrómo Internacional Algarve in Portimao, Portugal last week (21-22 February).
There, TF Sport received advanced technical support and feedback from Aston Martin Racing’s highly-skilled engineers as it attempted to hone its cars’ setups in time for the start of the new season.
John Gaw, Director of Aston Martin Racing, said: “We are delighted to introduce TF Sport into the Aston Martin Racing family and we look forward to supporting the team in every aspect of its motorsport programme for the duration of the 2014 season, providing advanced technical support or factory drivers as and when required.
“Aston Martin Racing is dedicated to supporting fresh, new driving talent and wants to help Tom (Ferrier) bring young, aspiring racers through the Aston Martin brand, while helping his current driver pairing, Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz, in their British GT exploits. I have been very impressed with the team’s professional approach and we hope this will be an exciting and lucrative partnership that brings much success.”
TF Sport Director, Tom Ferrier, added: “I’m hugely excited and pleased for TF Sport, as it’s a huge honour to be named as an Aston Martin Racing Partner Team. Everybody at the team is really excited about working with John (Gaw) and all of those involved with Aston Martin Racing and we will work tirelessly to provide the results that are expected of us. I sincerely hope this partnership brings a great deal of success and that we can form some interesting driver combinations.”
