The entry applications that were received by the series exceeded the 40 entries allotted. The approved entries will be announced in the following manner; the first 18 entries have now been announced; the next 18 will be released February 21st and the four remaining promoter options and approved alternates will be announced March 7th leading up to the April 11-13 event.
Among this initial list of 18 entries is Jack Baldwin and his No. 73 GTSport Racing with Goldcrest Motorsports’ Porsche Cayman S, his teammate Buz McCall and the No. 72 Porsche Cayman S, and Andy Lee and his No. 20 Best IT Racing Chevrolet Camaro. Baldwin won in GTS at Long Beach in 2012, while Lee had the GTS pole for the 2013 race .
“Buz and I as well as our entire GTSport Racing team are very much looking forward to bringing our StopTech/Motul Porsche Caymans back to Long Beach because it has a level of excitement like no other,” said Baldwin. “We love the fans, the track and everything about this historic event. To us it’s not only the one to be a part of, it’s the ONE to win.”
“Going back to Long Beach is like a dream come true… for the third time,” said Lee. “I am so lucky to run with World Challenge for another year! The Camaros are quite fast through the Streets of Long Beach. Last season we made some mistakes. Our motivation through the off season is to finish what we started last year at Long Beach after we took the pole and led most of the race. I can’t wait!”
