Two 8th positions is the result in the season-opening event of the 2013 International GT Open for Joel Camathias and team mate Mario Cordoni at the wheel of the Ombra Racing Ferrari F458 GT3. It was a challenging weekend at Paul Ricard, as rain, fog and wind hit the circuit in Southern France throughout the weekend, causing a number of race incidents. For the Swiss driver, finishing both races was already a promising start of the season!
Joel Camathias: “It was a difficult weekend because of the changing weather conditions, and everybody struggled a bit with tires and set-ups. The good news is that we finished both races. Mario Cordoni was hit by another car in his stint in Race 1, while I was also engulfed in the group during my first stint in Race 2, but in both cases we managed to climb up positions. The team did a good job and so did Mario, so we look forward to quitter outings in the weeks ahead!”
