Question: How did you first hear about Asian Le Mans Series?

Answer: I have been focusing on motorsport races at home and abroad for years now and I had heard about the Asian Le Mans race in Okayama before. I found out about the plan for a whole series at the 6 hours of Shanghai event last year, at the Asian Le Mans Series official press conference.

Q: As a professional motorsports journalist what do you think about the introduction of a full Asian LMS?

A: It is an excellent regional motor sports series that can give Asian, and especially Chinese, motor fans greater knowledge and understanding of endurance racing.

Q: A number of well regarded teams, such as KCMG, have entered the series – what do you think the series means to the teams?

A: For the teams the invitations to compete at the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours that are offered are hugely attractive. In addition racing at some of the most spectacular endurance tracks on the Asian continent: Korea, Japan, China, and Indonesia will give them valuable and memorable racing experiences.

Q: Two key rules for the series are that every car requires at least one Asian driver, as well as both amateur and professional drivers. What do you think about these stipulations?

A: Unlike the Le Mans 24 Hours the Asian LMS is at the ground-level of the Le Mans pyramid, with the aim of developing teams and drivers so that they can join the top race of the pyramid – the Le Mans 24 Hours. The pro-am format can help the amateur drivers gain experience and learn techniques from their professional teammates. As for the Asian drivers, the series will provide them with an excellent competition and platform to help Asian motorsports move forwards.
