The Spanish driver of Kurdish roots and Barzani Racing Team have had a positive first outing in Portugal, where the second round of the International GT Open takes places. They were 3rd fastest in GTS class with their Autorlando Sport Porsche 997 GT3 R.

Isaac Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team have completed today free practice sessions of the International GT Open at Autódromo do Algarve track. The results were really good always with mind focused on races on Saturday and Sunday. After the private tests on Thursday, Spain ́s driver was 3rd with his Porsche 997 GT3 R, with Kurdish colors, and shared with Greece ́s Dimitris Deverikos. Tutumlu posted a best lap of 1:46.291, less than half a second slower than the leader in GTS class.

“It ́s a good start because we ́re among fastest, just like at Paul Ricard. The car is working quite well and our target was to put a good package together, always with our sight set on both races. Most time we ́ve run on old tires but, with new ones, our times were also good”, Tutumlu said, adding that “tomorrow we want to do two good qualifying sessions, because we want to start well on the starting grid. Anyway, both races are long, consisting of seventy and fifty minutes, and your starting grid position doesn ́t have a key role”.

This weekend ́s first race is scheduled tomorrow at 16.00, counting towards the Spanish Iber GT series as well. Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team are also participating in this second series.
