Mechanical issues marred the weekend for Archie Hamilton and the Drivex squad. A differential problem in qualifying hampered performance and a broken driveshaft just before the race start prevented Archie and his team-mate Niccolò Schirò from starting race one yesterday.

The pair approached today with fresh determination and made the best of their opportunity to score points in race two. Both drivers drove well in an intense 50 minute race. Niccolò took the first stint and did well to stay out of trouble with first lap collisions. He handed over to Archie who managed to make some key passes to cross the line fifth in SuperGT and seventh overall.

Archie Hamilton: “It’s a relief to get some points out of a difficult weekend. Having had some mechanical issues we struggled with pace but managed to put up a good fight in the end. Hopefully we will be back on form in Germany and be back on the podium where we belong. “

Archie next races at Nürburgring, Germany on 1st and 2nd June.
