Mark Patterson, Driver, #18 : “Imola is such a demanding track; it’s cool but scary and takes a bit of effort and courage on your first drive around it! We did not need to make any significant adjustments to the car today and the carbon brakes, wow – when heated up the car can stop on a six-pence, it’s beautiful. First practice this morning was in the wet and tricky. It started to dry out toward the end, but second practice was perfectly dry. We got some good runs in and my time was improving lap by lap. Brendon got us in to P2 and we are quietly confident for tomorrow. I need to find two seconds a lap and am hoping that during the race I’ll be able to do that.”
Brendon Hartley, Driver, #18 : “We have had a really positive day. Both Mark and I are new to Imola and the track is fantastic. The car felt really good straight away in free practice this morning and we ended up P2 in the afternoon. Mark did a solid job during his first time in the dry and the team is working well together. We have made considerable steps forward in all areas and are feeling really good about the race tomorrow.”
Greg Murphy, Owner, Murphy Prototypes : “It was great to see the car run so well straight out of the box this morning. We made very little changes and the team has once again hit the ground running to produce an extremely encouraging result today. We shall see what pans out in Qualifying in the morning; Imola is a demanding circuit, with little room for error, but Mark and Brendon are doing a super job so I can ask no more than that.”
