This weekend Tristan is joining up with the team and his two team-mates, Pierre Ragues and Nelson Panciatici, to start the test day for the Le Mans 24 Hours in the Alpine A450. “I’m really delighted and excited about coming back to this legendary circuit that I love.” Tristan Gommendy.
An arrival at the circuit that won’t go unnoticed!
Tristan likes to spring surprise as his arrival at the official test day proves once again. “I’d really like this test day for the Le Mans 24 Hours to be a celebration for all the Alpine fans. For this occasion a friend – François Marion – has given me a huge present by lending me his superb Alpine A110. So I’ll head for the Le Mans circuit this coming Sunday on board a Berlinetta: a little jewel, a 1971 Alpine A110.
Tests to decide the final setup
Signatech-Alpine team has given Tristan a pretty busy running schedule: almost 4 hours to fine-tune the setup and long runs to work on the aerodynamic consistency. “For these tests pure performance over a lap won’t be my priority. We have to continue the work we’ve already begun with Michelin to optimize the tyres’ efficiency on double or even triple stints. I’m proud that the team has put its trust in me to carry out this development as optimizing tyre performance and management will be one of the keys of this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours for us. The team’s also going to ask me to do race simulations and work on the setup of the A450.”
“I can’t wait to share the first test day with you. I hope that you’ll flock to the circuit this Sunday and that I’ll be able to spend a little time with you – without rain!”, Tristan Gommendy.
