LeMans & Nico Verdonck have great memories together. Since he was the first European Champion of the Formula Le Mans – series organized by ACO & Oreca – he won at LeMans back in 2009 with DAMS and his South-African teammate Gavin Cronje. The objective of Nico was to be classified and to be ready and eligible to race at Le Mans 24h. Thanks to the generosity and support of Hugues de Chaunac (Oreca) and some friends and business colleagues there was a possibility to do the required 10laps.

“I’m really delighted to have accomplished my mission of last weekend, by fulfilling the 10mandatory laps, which allows me to compete at the most epic Endurance race on the global. I have done what I had to do, now it’s a question that an opportunity arises and be ready to jump-in to strengthen a professional team, even at very short notice. With the endurance experience and track knowledge, I’m confident, I can be an asset to support their team and driver- line-up. I would like to thank the entire Oreca team, Hugues de Chaunac and my close mentors, who enabled me to do the necessary laps, whichI hope will be start of the next chapter in my career!”
